Why is Alex awesome?

On top of being a Jazz pianist, speaker of French and German, aspiring writer and connoisseur of literary fiction and critical theory, I have been doing things with computers since early childhood, including projects as diverse as data warehousing, eCommerce, blogging, music recording and engineering, and making pretty pictures of things like Matrix code and Mandelbrot fractals.

Web is a concept which delights me, and, as far as I'm concerned, a game-changer. The age of Wikipedia, the age of REWORK, the age of the Long Tail, is a turning point for Western society. No reason to suspect we're living in Utopia yet, but as the Earth tends toward Cosmopolis the Web offers a very real possibility for empowerment. It's right in front of us.
